Freezer Trailer Hire: 4 Things Only We Think About

Picture of Under-thinking Refrigeration Hire

When one of our customers thinks about renting a freezer trailer, they think of things like cost and convenience. They concern themselves with how our walk-in cold rooms and trailers compare with refrigerated van hire. We get that. However, those of us who work in the temporary refrigeration industry have to think about other things. We think about strange things that do not even cross the minds of our customers.

Are you interested in seeing what makes its way through the mind of the typical worker in our industry? Check out these four things only we think about:

1. Scientific Definitions of Heat and Cold

As bizarre as it might sound, we have to think about the scientific definitions of both heat and cold. Neither heat nor cold can be described as an arbitrary temperature. This is important. Why? Because our refrigerator and freezer trailers have to overcome what is scientifically defined as heat in order to induce what is scientifically defined as cold.

Heat is a form of energy that is transferred through temperature differences. Heat can be measured with something as basic as a thermometer. On the other hand, cold is not a form of energy. It is a relative measurement of the lack of heat. The process of using a freezer trailer to cool and preserve food, for example, involves the removal of heat.

2. The Refrigeration Process

Our customers concern themselves primarily with whether or not the freezer trailer they rented from us actually works. If stuff stays frozen inside, they are happy. We wouldn't expect otherwise. On the other hand, we have to think about the process of refrigeration so as to ensure that every trailer and walk-in chiller we rent is actually working the way it's supposed to.

3. Mechanical Refrigeration

This next point is actually an offshoot of the previous one. There are multiple ways to achieve refrigeration, one of them being mechanical. All of our trailers and walk-in cold rooms rely on mechanical refrigeration to do what they do. Thus, we have to understand the mechanics. We also have to apply those mechanics to our equipment if we hope to keep our customers from walking away from Icecool Trailers and looking at refrigerated van hire instead.

4. Refrigerants

Refrigerants are the chemical components inside a closed refrigeration system that actually accomplish the work of removing heat. As you know, some refrigerants are less friendly to the environment than others. For safety purposes, we always have to keep refrigerants in mind when performing maintenance and repair work. We're also keeping an eye on new refrigerants that may come into play in the future.

As leaders in temporary refrigeration throughout Greater London, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and beyond, we take great pride in serving our customers with reliable and affordable refrigerator and freezer trailers. We also offer walk-in chillers and freezers as well. Call us for all your temporary refrigeration needs, be they planned events or emergencies.
